LET’S PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL
We are seeking the
names of your relatives or friends who are serving in the military.
Let’s remember them this holiday season with our prayers, cards and

If you know of anyone you would like to be remembered, call the church
office with their name and address. If
you have a picture of this individual, give it to Diana Rieger or drop it off at
the church office.
On the third Sunday of every month a
group of us travel to Butler to the Sunnyview

Sunday school lesson. We are looking for
volunteers to help get the residents from their rooms to our meeting place

A short autobiography of our
pastor, Greg Wiest
Greg Wiest was unanimously accepted as our new pastor and officially took the post here at Glade Run on January 13, 2004. In a short statement, he tells us his history:
I was born in Southern California on a Naval Base in 1963. Since my father
was a career naval officer, my family moved around quite a bit while I was
growing up. Over the years I have lived in California, Alaska, Maryland,
Bermuda, Virginia, North Carolina and now Pennsylvania. I and my brother
and sister grew up in a Christian home; my parents always found a church for us
to attend wherever we lived.
I personally became a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of 5 while a attending
a Good News Club in our neighborhood. As a teenager, I recommitted my life
to Christ and grew in my faith through involvement in Young Life and my church.
I owe much of my spiritual development to my Young Life leader, Pat Goodman.
I attended college at Virginia Tech, where I met my wife at the freshmen mixer
during the first week of classes. Laura and I were involved in Campus
Crusade for Christ and then in Young Life leadership. I graduated with a
business finance degree and Laura earned an accounting degree in 1986.(We were
married the summer that we graduated) Following school, I worked in
insurance and Laura worked as a CPA. Our home church was Third
Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Va.
After college I felt the call to ministry and through the guidance of our pastor
I enrolled at Union Theological Seminary in Virginia in 1989. I attended
Seminary and graduated in 1992. Our son Nathan was born while we were in
seminary. (Before he was able to speak, Nathan attended Greek class with me)
Our first call to ministry was to Pineland Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville,
NC. We ministered to the Church in North Carolina for 6 years during which
our 2 daughters, Maggie and Claire, were born. We were blessed at this
church with numerical and spiritual growth.

|
|
|

challenge and uplift you, then you will want to be at Glade Run for this

PRAYER MINISTRY
If you have any
prayer concerns or joys, our prayer chain ministry is ready and willing to lift
these requests to the Lord. Just give
Vera Hasley (724-898-3026) or Evelyn Sagi (724-898-1706) a call and they will pass them on. Our prayer chain is always looking for new
members. Let Vera or Evelyn know if you
would like to be part of the team.
MINISTRY WORKERS
Are you serving or do you plan to serve in one of Glade Run’s children’s or young people’s ministries (Sunday School, ROCK, Nursery, etc.)? If you have not previously obtained Act 34 (criminal background) and Act 151 (child abuse) clearances, please stop by the church office for the necessary forms. All persons serving in any ministry with children or young people are required by Session to have clearances.
The Building and
Grounds Team is looking for new members.
We get together usually once a month and do general maintenance of the
church complex. If you would be
interested in this ministry, please call Lloyd Trimble at 724-352-0382 or
679-0970.
For Children:
NEW CHILDREN'S MINISTRY OPTIONS
Get a notebook and draw a picture or color a picture during the worship
service. Be sure to put your name on the picture (if
you are not taking it home). We'll post them on the bulletin board
for everyone to see! Return the notebook and the pencils to the basket when
church is over. Thanks for being a worship artist!
A "relief room," "cry room," or "play
room" where parents may take children (but not leave the service) who
need to play or cry is available to you. During worship in the sanctuary,
parents may use the Emma Dean Anderson Room. During worship in the Worship
Center, parents may use the preschool room. These are for children not in
the nursery.
